Eurobiomed is a non-for-profit organisation which has been accredited by the French government as a "competitive cluster". There are 71 "competitive clusters" in France and Eurobiomed is one of the eight Biotechnology - Pharma clusters. Eurobiomed federates healthcare stakeholders in both "Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur" and "Languedoc-Roussillon" counties of South East of France.

Considering the amount of companies, the research potential, the scientific excellence as well as the high-tech medical and research equipment dedicated to health innovation, Eurobiomed has been proposed as one of the main competitive clusters in Europe for healthcare.

Historically, Eurobiomed was created on January 1st 2009 and is the results of the merger of three well-established clusters called Orpheme, Bioméditerranée and Holobiosud. This merger confirmed the industrial, clinical and scientific stakeholders' resolve to work together, gain in visibility, develop new collaborations and promote an R&D network along France's Mediterranean coast.

Eurobiomed is now taking advantages of the synergies between the three original clusters to support the innovation in Life sciences. The merger results in a stronger structure, with a better strategic positioning, increased network, reinforced visibility and improved efficacy:
