The École des Mines d’Alès is a French Institute of engineering and applied sciences under the supervision of the Ministry of Industry.
The research developed in biotechnology concerns (I) biodetection (microbiological and molecular diagnosis, biosensors for toxins, organic contaminants and pathogens), (II) the modification and packaging of natural biopolymers for applications and/or medical devices (capillaries , hollow fiber, membrane), (iii) biomedical engineering applied to disability and aging, (iv) data analyses, (v) bioprocesses (nano and micro) for the treatment of effluents. – Furthermore, the École des Mines d’Alès participates in the coordination of a Master’s degree in Biology and Health (more precisely, the Bioengineering courses) with the Universities of Montpellier and Nîmes. The EMA has included a technology incubator named Innov Up dedicated to supporting the creation and development of innovative SMEs. The École des Mines d’Alès belongs to the Institut Mines-Telecom.
