AUSTRAL Diagnostics

Resulting from a collaboration between the Langevin Institute "Ondes et Images" (ESPCI Paris - PSL/CNRS) and the Experimental and Clinical Respiratory Neurophysiology Unit (Inserm/Sorbonne University) of the Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital, AUSTRAL Dx develops the first medical device capable of mapping, without contact, without irradiation and in an ultra-fast way, the vibrations of the surface of the thorax to characterize respiratory and cardiac pathologies. This device, based on a technological breakthrough, will contribute to significantly improving patient pathways by accelerating diagnoses, while improving the choice of subsequent examinations. The different markets targeted are the hospital (emergency, cardiology and pneumology services), the city (general practitioners), telemedicine, the home (for the monitoring of chronic pathologies), the field with in particular the screening of pneumonia in developing countries.
