ImmunoSearch

ImmunoSearch was founded in 2007, to develop alternative in-vitro toxicology tests in response to regulatory constraints prohibiting tests on animals, with particular emphasis on the cosmetics industry. Three toxicology tests are required to commercialize chemical products: eye irritation, skin irritation and skin allergy tests. In 2010 Immunosearch was granted worldwide patents for all three tests (Eye IRR-IS, IRR-IS, and SENS-IS respectively), using a combination of 3D in-vitro reconstructed human tissues (skin, eye, lung, etc.) with a toxicogenomic approach. The demonstration of specific genomic signatures of toxicity on these human tissue models allows measurement of the toxicity of products and ingredients with great precision. This method represents a technological breakthrough, completely replacing animal testing in toxicological science.
